Where is Sinacaban?
The Municipality of Sinacaban (Cebuano: Lungsod sa Sinacaban) is a 5th class town in the province of Misamis Occidental, Philippines on the island of Mindanao. It is home to Aurum's parents and a few generations of our ancestors. This is mainly what we know when we think of the Philippines -- a small, simple countryside town along the ocean filled with rice farms, coconut and banana trees, with beautiful mountains in the background. It also a severely under-resourced town. For many families, survival is a daily accomplishment.
Our Goals
We are dedicated to end cycles of generational poverty among families in Sinacaban. We believe that every family deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are working to provide the resources and support needed to make that possible. In doing so, we become a tangible expression of Creator God's love that impact people directly. By focusing on key areas like dental care, education, food security, creating small businesses, and transportation, we empower families to overcome the barriers that have held them back for generations. Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient community where everyone has the chance to succeed.
5 Key Areas of Support
-
Dental Care
Dental health is often overlooked, yet it plays a critical role in overall well-being and confidence. We plan to provide access to essential dental care, helping to prevent long-term health issues and improving quality of life.
-
Education
Education is the cornerstone of empowerment. By focusing on educational resources, we hope to give children the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
-
Food Security
Regular nutritious food are foundational needs that, when met, allow families to thrive. We aim to ensure that families can have regular food security that will provide the stability they need.
-
Micro Loans for Small Business
Small businesses are the heartbeat of local economies. Through micro loans, we aim to empower local entrepreneurs to start or expand their businesses, fostering economic growth and self-sufficiency within the community.
-
Transportation
Bus fare in Sinacaban is not free for children. Many are unable to go to school because they don't have the resources to get there. We aim to ensure that children can get to school to focus on growth and their future.
